Misty Valley Stream Planting

About this Event

Nau mai, haere mai. Join us for a planting at Opanuku Stream to show a bit of aroha for a part of the neighbourhood that has been hit hard by the floods. Stay for a BBQ and chat together at the end.

The native plants you put into the ground will help mitigate erosion, provide food and shelter for native birds, and be enjoyed for generations to come. We’ll chat about what we can do to prepare for future storms, and look at the way water flows through the neighbourhood.

Please wear sturdy shoes or gumboots. Bring a rain jacket and gardening gloves if you have any (some gloves will be provided). Kids welcome, but must be accompanied by supervising adults.
