EcoMatters and Kaipātiki Project have joined forces to bring you the Compost Collective.
Aucklanders send over 120,000 tonnes of organic waste to landfill each year, but with the support of Auckland Council, which has an aspirational vision of zero waste by 2040, the Compost Collective is striving to reduce this startling statistic.
The Compost Collective is a collaborative project aimed at helping Aucklanders reduce the amount of food and garden waste sent to landfill. Instead of throwing organic waste away the Compost Collective will teach you how to convert it into a valuable resource for our soil.
The Compost Collective hosts FREE composting workshops across Auckland. Our passionate compost facilitators will teach you three basic composting systems; traditional bin composting, bokashi and worm-farming. Once you have decided on what composting system best suits your lifestyle the Compost Collective team can show you how to access a $40 discount on a system of your choice for your household.

Here are some handy health and safety reference documents for community gardens that are using Bokashi bins, worm farming or cold composting.
