About this Event

Interested in sustainable living and every day actions lowering carbon emissions?

The Whau Climate Action Network invites you to a free screening of Living The Change.

Watch together on the big screen stories of New Zealand communities coming together and pioneering change in their own lives. This film shares solutions any one of us can be part of at home and in our neighbourhood.

Hear about local groups and projects anyone can join

This is also an opportunity to get to know like-minded people and projects in the Whau. The screening will be followed by brief introductions to local community groups doing great work that anyone can join.

Register to attend

This is a free event but please register. This ensures we have seats for everyone and helps us keep in touch with you about the screening if needed.

Families welcome

The documentary is classified PG – consumer advice: mild coarse language.

The cinema is letting us use their unsupervised outside space so kids have an alternative place to hang out if they want.

Venue information

The cinema sells vegan food, popcorn and sweets. Also beer, wine, juice and hot drinks. Bring your reusable cup or the cinema will supply plant-based cups that they compost themselves.

Getting there

Please consider sustainable transport options. The Avondale train station is a 5 minute walk, buses travel along Great North Rd, and there are bike paths nearby.

Ngā mihi – special for those under 20 years old or unwaged

We are grateful to Karma Cola for giving a drink (one per person) and to Hollywood Cinema for offering a special popcorn price of $3, for those under 20 years old or unwaged.
