Our newest Bike Hub @ Glen Innes follows a hugely popular season of pop up Bike Fix events at Te Oro. We’re all about getting more people cycling. Find us in Maybury Reserve, off Taniwha Street, near the intersection with Line Road.
The hub offers assistance with learning basic bike maintenance skills, like how to inflate tyres and repair punctures, configure your bike for riding comfort, tune and adjust your breaks and gears, and maintain your chain.
We also rescue bikes destined for landfill, giving them a new lease of life and gifting or selling them at low cost, to help more people discover the joy of cycling.
The Bike Hub is a whanau-friendly destination for cyclists of all ages and abilities. Call past for a chat about cycling in Auckland.
WHAT’S ON OFFER
- Free access to tools and advice on basic bike maintenance
- Used bikes for sale and loan
- Used and new bike parts and accessories
- Safe cycling advice and guidance
- Free cycling maps
You’re welcome to bring your bike in and ask one of our staff for guidance. If you don’t have a bike yet, we can loan you a bike or help you refurbish a recovered bike.
We don’t offer a certified bike mechanical repair service where you drop your bike off to be repaired. There are great local bike shops that provide this service. Our aim is to work alongside you to develop your skills and knowledge so that you can freely enjoy the benefits of cycling.
BIKE DONATIONS AND VOLUNTEERS
We happily receive donated bikes and parts in reasonable condition that we restore and sell at a low cost to help keep us going.
We also welcome volunteers. Get in touch by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org if you’re interested in volunteering with the EcoMatters Bike Hub.
