This is your FINAL CHANCE to nominate your environmental heroes!
Do you know someone who deserves a bit of public recognition and community celebration for their contribution to the environment in the Waitākere Ranges Local Board area?
Nominate them TODAY for a Love Your Place Award!
All nominees will be in to win fabulous prizes including a unique glamping experience with Wainamu Luxury Tents at Bethells Beach!
Nominations close August 15, 2016. Nominate someone you think deserves an award, online at ecomatters.org.nz/nominate or pick up a nomination form from your local library.
Award categories:
• Karaka Award: for a school group or individual student champion taking action to create a sustainable environment.
• Rātā Award: for an outstanding volunteer effort in taking action to reduce pest animals and/or pestplants (group or individual).
• Barfoot & Thompson Glen Eden Kahikatea Award: for an outstanding group or individual volunteer taking efforts to work on a significant local environmental issue.
• Pūriri Award: for an outstanding contribution in tackling marine/coastal environment issues.
• Elevation Café Tōtara Award: for an outstanding contribution in tackling climate change related issues.
• Nīkau Award: for a business making a significant contribution to improving the Waitakere Ranges by demonstrating commitment to the environment.
While nominees may live anywhere in Auckland, nominated projects must be located within the Waitākere Ranges Local Board area to be eligible.
The Love Your Place Awards are funded by Waitākere Ranges Local Board, and hosted by EcoMatters Environment Trust with support from some fantastic local sponsors, including Elevation Café, Barfoot & Thompson Glen Eden, Black Sands Brewing Co, Artisan Wines, and Wainamu Luxury Tents.
