1 – 31 March 2017
The war is on! Facilitated by EcoMatters WeedFree, War on Weeds happens annually during the month of March.
This month of extra bins gives West Auckland households further support to help eliminate invasive weeds on their gardens, and by extension, control the spread of weeds into Auckland’s beautiful West Coast bush. See map below for locations of WOW bins 2017 (Light Green)
Alongside War on Weeds, there are several permanent weed bins (all year round) located in the Waitākere Ranges. See map below for locations of permanent bins (Dark Green)
There are also two amnesty bin sites. These bins are out just once a month and you have the added pleasure of having one of the Weed Free team there to talk to.
Locations for the amnesty bins as follows –
Kowhai Reserve, which has a bin on the first Saturday of every month;
Kauri Loop Rd, which has a bin on the 2nd Saturday of every month.
