ebike loans at Onehunga

Important to know before you book

  • Bikes are loaned for two weeks with pickups / dropoffs on Saturdays and Sundays 10:30am – 1:00pm.
  • You are welcome to borrow a helmet – talk to hub staff at the time of pickup. Helmets are also available for any child passengers.
  • You’ll need to pay a $150 security deposit to borrow an ebike. This is refundable if the ebike and any accessories are returned at the agreed time and in good order. You’ll also need to show a passport or NZ driver’s licence as proof of identity.
  • Our ebikes are for on-road urban use in Auckland and can’t be used off-road.
  • Anyone riding the bike must be 18+ years (child passengers on bikes with child seats excepted).
  • You must be able to secure the ebike when not in use. This means either using the lock provided to attach the ebike by the frame to an immovable object, or if it is stored inside a house or garage, the doors and windows must be locked.
  • You’ll need to ride your ebike home because it can’t be transported by car or trailer.

How to book

  1. Select your preferred dates in the date picker below, click apply, and see which ebikes are available. You’ll need to select a Saturday as your pick-up and drop-off date when booking online, but you can turn up to the Bike Hub on either Saturday or Sunday.
  2. Nothing available that you like? Keep trying other Saturdays until you find an available timeslot. We only allow bookings three months in advance, so you won’t have to click through too many Saturdays to see everything we have on offer.
  3. Is the ebike you want booked out for the next three months? We frequently add new timeslots for each bike. Contact us on the email address below and we’ll notify you when we do this, so you can get in early and book one.
