La Rosa Garden Reserve Planting
Location
About this Event
Nau mai, harae mai! Join us these school holidays for a community planting alongside the Waitahurangi Awa, which flows through La Rosa Reserve.
The native plants we put into the ground will add stability to the stream banks, slow water flow during heavy rain, reducing flash flood impact and helping manage stormwater. These plants also stabilise stream banks and provide habitat for native wildlife.
We’ll be meeting at the playground at La Rosa Reserve.
Gumboots or closed-toe, sturdy footwear is essential. Please bring a hat, rain jacket and gardening gloves if you have any (some gloves will be provided). Kids welcome but must be accompanied by a supervising adult.
This is a Whau Wai Ora project funded by the Whau Local Board.
