We will be putting some native plants in the ground\, which can add stability to the stream banks\, absorb water in heavy rain\, and provide a healthy habitat for our native birds and critters. \nBe a part of transforming this stream into a thriving awa that flows well in changeable weather\, is more resilient in heavy rain and drought\, and helps move water quickly to the sea. \nBring a hat\, rain jacket and gardening gloves if you have any\, and wear sturdy closed-toe shoes. \nMeet at the Brick Bridge on Huia Road (opp Tangiwai Reserve). The best place to park is on Landing Road. \nThis event is a collaboration between Waima to Lainghom Pest Free Zone and EcoMatters and supported by Auckland Council Healthy Waters.
