BIKES IN SCHOOLS SERVICING

bike-servicing-banner

The team that brings you the EcoMatters Bike Hubs is pleased to offer bike fleet servicing for schools participating in the Bikes in Schools programme in the Auckland area.

Our bike technicians have extensive mechanical experience, and will come to your school at an agreed time with all the equipment to service your bike fleet. Our team members have all been through police background checks for working in school environments. After completing the servicing, we'll provide a brief document outlining any advice or issues we've identified that will help your school maintain your bikes and keep them safe for kids to ride.

As EcoMatters is a charitable trust, proceeds from this service go towards supporting local community bike initiatives.

What we offer

Full fleet service & safety check: $25/bike + gst

It is recommended that schools undertake a full fleet service and safety check on an annual basis. If you have a fleet of 50 bikes, this will cost $1250 + gst.

This includes a safety check, tuning of brakes and gears, chain and cable lube and tyre pressure check.

Any bike part replacements and associated labour may cost extra, depending on the work required. If more work is needed, we'll discuss the details with you first and let you know how much it might cost before we begin the additional work.

It usually takes around 15-20 hours (2-3 days of site visits) for one technician to service a fleet of 50 bikes. Contact us to book a service.

One-off repairs and service: quote on request

If you have bikes that need to be fixed outside of your annual servicing process, we're also available for one-off servicing or repair requests. The cost of this service will depend on what needs to be done in order to get the bikes safe for riding again. Contact us and we'll provide a quote on a case-by-case basis.

Bike Hub services for kids and parents

Our growing network of community Bike Hubs across Auckland can be a great complement to schools participating in the Bikes in Schools programme, as a source of free advice and support for the parents and caregivers of your students who are learning to ride.

We can also assist with helping children and families to access low cost, second-hand bikes to help support cycling outside of school. Find out more
