Nau mai, haere mai. Join us for a Matariki wetland planting session at one of Glen Eden’s hidden treasures, the Wirihana Wetland. With grateful thanks to those who came to our recent weeding bee here, the ground is now prepared and ready for native seedlings to be planted.
This is a gorgeous sliver of bush nestled between Glen Eden and Titirangi – an important habitat for kauri, kahikatea, swamp maire and tī kouka, as well as native fish, bugs and birds.
Led by the Project Twin Streams Glen Eden team at EcoMatters, who have been collaborating with local kaitiaki to care for this spot for more than a decade.
Please wear sturdy shoes and bring gloves if any, as well as your mask. Meet at the end of Sonnenberg Way and follow the signs. Recommended for ages 6+
