Children will learn about and observe the fascinating world of underground critters and organisms (worms, bacteria, fungi) that nourish and compost our soil. We will follow up with an exploration of painting and drawing techniques using, crayons, ink, and sgraffito.
This workshop is the third and last in our Soil Series of January School Holiday nature-based art workshops. Join in all three to explore soil and compost critters, painting and drawing with natural soil pigments, and crayon making. Workshops are geared toward children ages 7-12 (please contact us if you have a child outside this age group who would like to attend). Materials provided, please bring a sun hat/sunscreen and a packed lunch. Please contact [email protected] with any questions.
Workshop tutor: Ekarasa Doblanovic, Art Grounds
Art Grounds is a meeting ground for collective imagination and sustainable art making through a direct engagement with nature and sustainable art practices such as re-use and recycling. Whenever possible, materials for workshops are naturally sourced and recycled.
